Due to many commitments to cricket at this time of year (I am involved in playing, umpiring, coaching, pitch preparation and administration) I have not been able to give hardly any time to studying in the last three months. Things should improve by the end of this month as junior cricket will largely be finished for the year. I also am to blame for not managing what little time I have had a bit better. This is something I really need to work on, as there have been many wet days during this summer. I can’t recall a wetter summer.
Back to Music One. I have nearly completed the work on Impressionism for assignment two and have completed my spider map and am quite happy with my account of Impressionism in music. I just need to finalize my final draft and create bibliography, resources, title page etcetera. That will leave me the account of my work in part two to complete. I will hopefully complete that this weekend and be able to submit it and start work on part three.
Another development of a personal nature is that I had noticed I have been struggling to read some small print and decided to go for an eye test. As a result of this I now have glasses for reading and computer work. The difference in clarity of reading is staggering. I just had not noticed that my eyesight had deteriorated so much. This I think will be a big help to me.
For the same reasons stated above I have not been able to attend many live performance of music of late, those that I have I have written about in this listening blog. I am going to a concert on July 25th as part of the “Welsh Proms” in St David’s Hall. A night of Tchaikovsky, which I am looking forward to.
